Gogo Welcomes Christopher Payne to its Board of Directors

ITASCA, Ill., June 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Gogo (NASDAQ: GOGO), a leading global aero communications service provider, today welcomes Christopher Payne to its board of directors.  Payne has spent the last five years of his career at eBay where he currently serves as senior vice president, North America Marketplaces.  He is responsible for leading eBay's North American businesses, which includes general management, marketing and P&L.

Prior to joining eBay, Payne was founder and CEO of a software start-up called Positronic that focused on machine learning and data mining.  Positronic was acquired by eBay in December of 2008. 

Payne has also held leadership positions at Microsoft and Amazon.  While at Microsoft, Payne led the company's efforts in web search, mapping (Virtual Earth) and shopping from 2003 to 2007. While at Amazon from 1998 to 2001, he led Amazon's entry into Video, Electronics, Wireless, PCs and Software.

Payne's term on the Gogo board will extend until the annual meeting of stockholders in 2016.
