ITASCA, Ill., March 27, 2012 - Gogo, a leader of in-flight connectivity and a pioneer of wireless in-flight digital entertainment solutions, announced today that it has installed Gogo on its 1500th commercial aircraft. Year to date, the company has installed Gogo on more than 140 aircraft.
"This is a big milestone for Gogo and it's obviously big for passengers who want to stay connected at 30,000 feet," said Michael Small, Gogo's president and CEO. "Since 2008, we've worked to get Gogo up and running on nine of our airline partners, which represent approximately 87 percent of Internet-enabled North American commercial aircraft."
Gogo can now be found on nine major airlines including on all domestic AirTran, Virgin America and nearly all Delta Air Lines and Alaska Airlines flights. Gogo is also currently installed on more than 300 American Airlines aircraft and on select US Airways, Frontier Airlines, Air Canada and United Airlines flights.
US Airways recently announced that they will expand Gogo service across the Airbus A320 (A319, A320 and A321) family and Embraer 190 fleet. With this expansion, US Airways will have 90 percent of its mainline domestic fleet equipped with Wi-Fi Internet access.
